As its prime function and raison-d-être, the Prempuri Ashram conducts two main programs on a daily basis. These are:- "Pratah Pravachan" (meaning early-morning discourse), and "Swadhyaya" (meaning guided scriptural self-study). These two programs that have been conducted without break of even a single day ever since the formation of the Ashram in the year 1975, form the principal pillars of the Ashram's functional existence. It was for the explicit purpose of fostering Satsang Pravachan and Swadhyaya activity that the Ashram was envisioned by the late Swami Shri Prempuriji Maharaj and brought into existence by his ardent devotees and followers.
The main aim of these two programs is to promote the understanding and appreciation of "Sanatan Dharma Shastra" which forms the basic fabric of Indian spiritual life, and to foster the spirit of love, devotion and selfless service to society at large as enunciated in the great teachings of an unbroken chain of sages, saints and scholars of mother India.
